Turbine (jet) R/C helicopters have been around for awhile as well. A telecom guy at work is heavy into R/C choppers and he showed me video of a jet chopper that a guy in his R/C club built. then flew at the little airport they have. Way cool.

they have those too. Some R/C clubs have bombing competitions. the bombs are filled with flour instead of explosives.. although real mini-bombs would be way cool to watch.

80000rpm :D!!!

Ive always been a flight simmer on PC and worked on jets for the navy for 10 years.
this is the closest ill get to flyign them.
there is an F-14 vid out there too that is incredible..

Ive been pricing RC copters and most good setups start at 1K and go up..

Those jets are about 8-9 grand I think. I saw one at an RC meet where some ex-NFL player brought his and did a demo. They seem to fly exactly like the real thing but smaller...sound incredible too!

This is all old. I was into R/C airplanes some years ago but slowly lost interest in it. The no denying the attraction of this hobby though!

Not sure about the sound barrier though I do have that video of a real military plane (F-15/18 maybe?) breaking the sound barrier just off a carrier. I am always more in favor of clean and less noisy electric flight as far as RC is concerned.
