So it can go fast in a straight line... but how does it take the corners? Sounds cool, but I think I will wait until the independent reviews come out on this. I think it is supposed to go for around 35k or so.

I'll bite, why is the SVT Focus a laugh? It doesn't have the mega power, but it handles like its on rails.

Looks like a cheap POS like all the other Mustangs on the road :)

How much is it?

Ouch, no thanks. For that kind of cash, I'll take an Audi S4, thanks.

Yeah your right...the price is "under 35K" We'll see about the corners...I have been doing some shopping and I noticed this after looking at the Eclipse Spyder GT, and the Maxima SE. Both of those cars have a curb weight of 3200 lbs, while the mustang has 3600 lbs. Hopefully this helps with cornering even with the xtra weight:

Front: Modified MacPherson strut system with gas-charged Bilstein? monotube dampeners and separate 600 lb/in (500 lb/in on convertible) spring on lower arm, 29mm tubular stabilizer bar

Rear: Multi-link independent system, cast iron upper control arm, aluminum lower control arm, fixed toe-control tie rod, aluminum spindle, gas-charged Bilstein? monotube shock absorber, 600 lb/in (470 lb/in on convertible) coil spring, 26mm tubular stabilizer bar

Be sure to download the brochure

Sorry, about the focus comment, but I have always thought that they are one of the stupidest looking cars on the road. Besides if you want a sports car, get a sports car, not a souped up roller skate.

For the price the SVT Focus sells for, I think it's pretty good value for someone who wants a little excitment in their ride... It provides driving fun when u want, but can still comfortably seat 4 adults...

Damn guys! I wouldnt' be surprised if we're speaking german or japanese in the next few years with ur attitude. Little jr europeans, get out of america. :) nah i gotta be a little biased since im putting in my order for one this mid-march. Black/Black Coupe with chrome rims option.. So if you want to challenge me in your S4 (which i was about to get).. BRING IT ON BITCH.

Oh and the SVT Focus gets .91g's on the skidpad, same as the M3. It's 4 cylinder N/A was co-developed with cosworth technology, which is also the tuner for the RS4 and RS6 in europe.. (The 380hp S4 and 450 hp S6), its nice 85hp/per litre N/A is great. and at 17k base price its a bargain. I want them both.

While I think the Focus is a pretty gimpy looking car, it's got a decent HP/size ratio, and probably handles quite well for itself.

A souped up roller skate? hahahahahahah i happened to take this picture at a car show in conneticut. But still, you should go to hell (joking dont get all emotional).. sometimes all people can afford is a "souped up roller skate" and this thing is a damn good one, lots of engineering.. And some people actualy like it for its *gasp* looks.. Yeah thats me (compared to all the imports i see on the race scene).

Yeah so would Car & Driver. Check out the March issue titled fast backs. It came in 1st when put against the Civic Si and VW GTI. And for less money too.

As someone who is into drag racing, I have to say "who cares?" However, for my next car I'm looking at this puppy...

Edit: &%(&*(^ Flash sites... I'm referring to the Saleen S-281 Supercharged

Not the S281-E, that thing's too expensive.. I'd just go with the supercharged S281, and add whatever goodies to it :D (Yes, the Cobra may have more stock HP, but the Saleen looks a hell of a lot better!)

Problem is that I have to wait another couple years to get out of the lease I'm currently in..

Im not gonna lie man, a Vortech S-trim supercharger on a Saleen should put up a good fight.. and look good... i guess. :) Nothing is as good looking as a stock cobra beating a modded saleen...
