I just went to check up on my roomate's computer and it has been up and running for 37 days now! I'm sure many of you have seen system up way longer than this, but 37 days without a reboot is pretty long for a home desktop machine. He runs Win2K on a Celeron 500 and isn't overly interested in computers (thus he is not installing new software all the time that requires reboots), which explains the long uptime.

The most I have had my system running is about 7 days without a reboot. You know, in a weeks time there is always some new MS update or new driver which requires a reboot.

I had my Win2K workstation at work running for ~60 days once, but during the last few days it was damn near impossible to get anything done on it.

Of course this box had been treated pretty badly(well for being a Windows box), with lots and lots of software installs/deinstalls and such.

Didn't care much though, I hardly use it 🙂

Yeah, and the amazing thing is that his system really was very responsive and seemed to be working just fine. That is why I was very surprised to see it had been up for so long.

I am almost postitive my WIN XP box could run for that long without a crash, but I would hate to throw all that money out the window for electricty! The reason these systems can go for so long is because they handle memory very well win9x and me just eat ram like french fries especially ME its already used all the availible memory right from startup! Win XP uses on my system about 256-300 at most thats when I am playing games and multitasking, but when I am finished it right back down to about 150 -180! Thats why if you have XP you should have 512 installed!

I had a W2k box, (BH6 & 300a @ 450) that went for 131 days without a reboot, no telling how long it would have stayed up if the power hadn't gone out. Of course that's the longest I've gone without a power failure too. Gotta love Cinergy/PSI in Indiana!
