Surfing through J. Crew and Banana Republic sites and wow, $100-$130 for a dress shirt!

Throw in a pair of $200 slacks, $150 shoes and I'm wearing almost half a grand.

Wow, BR's stuff has gotten that pricey now? Last time I checked, their designs and quality hadn't changed at all...but some articles of clothing warrant a higher price tag. Some of us don't mind spending a little cash to get some better clothing.

normally shoes should be more than the rest of the outfit.

I shop smart though, I get complemented on my clothing. Even had an asshat friend (at the time) comment against me because his $5k in clothes went unnoticed.

I don't think the thread was "Find the most expensive clothes contest."

If it were, you'd defnitely qualify for the semi's. Congrats.

I always thought super expensive work clothes was interesting. I guess there are some people who make so much money that wearing $500+ is appropriate at work.

saks 5th ave. had this weird dress shirt with like a map printed on it for $995... and a regular ol' spiderman t-shirt you could get at universal studios for $110...

we do alot of cotton polo-style shirts at work, i mean dozens a day, handwash most of them without a second thought. after all...theyre cotton, everyone handwashes the things, right?

so one day, this customer comes in around 3pm, picks up his order....it has a red knit polo shirt in it. he complains.

it looks like it fits a child. it was his. hes slightly taller than i am.

it was a 100% cotton knit shirt, that was supposed to be dry clean only...because it wasnt PRE SHRUNK

we ended p having to pay him $100 for that shirt. one, 100% cotton, knit shirt.

disgusting.

And how much do you usually pay for shirts?

Not $130 😛 The most I've spent on a shirt was about $60 for a nice dress shirt to wear with a suit. Hell I had a $40 (paid only $20) Fossil button up shirt I wore tonight out to a bar/clubbing that all the girls commented on and said looked fantastic on me. You don't have to pay $130 to look good in a shirt.
