WoW 1.2.1 patch

The Blizzard Downloader is crawling away at 5 k/s on my fast DSL. It's gonna take 2hrs for the ~40MB file. Can anyone that already has the patch send it to me on AIM or host it for a sec? (it's in your WoW directory if you've already installed it).

I think everyone is having this problem, I cant even connect with or without peers

If you're behind a router, do you have the proper ports forwarded to your PC? It took me about 5 minutes to get the patch.

Yea, it's ports 6881-6999 right? Still crawling along........

Where can you even download the patch? There is no link on their main site to get it? I don't have the ability to fire up the game to download the patch and want to download it now while i am at work so i can just apply it when i get home.

You'd think that with something as big as a patch they would have a direct link on their main site.

Blizzard blows chunks. First unscheduled server downtimes all the time, login server problems, patches that have no links, etc etc etc

Wonder why they haven't gone under yet.

For WoW you also need 3724 and 6112, in addition to the traditional 6881+ for BT - btw I wouldn't go to 6999, I only have 6881 & 6882 open in that range, my download speed is fine.

You can't download the patch from their site, you have to use the Blizzard Downloader, which is based in BitTorrent (when you run the game). Otherwise the bandwidth requirements would choke their site.

And yea, the logon server issues are really pissing me off.

If they didn't make such incredible games, I would have quit playing long ago.

Calm down 😛 Mmorpgs are complex, it's just their nature. Problems happen, especially in the first month or two. WoW is far more polished & less buggy than EverQuest, and that game's been out for almost six years.

i hate there bt patches 🙁 when i upload it caps my download 🙁

*edit* thanks for those links!! 🙂

Because they make kick-ass games that people pay $$ for? Apparently, even those people who believe they "blow chunks" still drop $50 + $15/month for their stuff.

so true, so true.

Frustrating as hell when they dont work, but very rewarding when they do.

I feel sorry for alexander having to update cosmos again, and perhaps at this rate, every tuesday.

Cosmos still needs an ass ton of work done to it, I'd feel sorry if it was a finished product.

Indeed. I've always considered Blizzard to be one of the "better" companies that seems to care about their customers, but even they drop the ball every once in a while.
