An Italian newspaper is reporting that the FBI is investigating the possibility that someone profited from the attacks by short selling reinsurance stocks in the days ahead of the attacks, driving down their value 13 to 15 percent. They would almost have to have known about the attacks in advance, and thus have ties to the terrorists. We know these people are well financed.

Wouldn't it be the height of hypocrisy of these haters of "evil western capitalism" were profiting from the very system they hate?

I know there's suspicions in Japan that Bin Laden himself bought termins just days before the incident, profiting millions from it. Haven't been confirmed though, only suspicions yet.

No more hypocritical than capitalism-bashing leftists who have an investment portfolio, live in up-scale neighborhoods, drive trendy automobiles (including 'enviro-killing' SUVs), own pagers and cell-phones, etc. Plenty of those.
