Sometime within the next 20 years, scientist will test a newly developed light emitting chemical in outer space. This extremely high intensity light emitting chemical, consisting of a gas-like vapor nature, is gravity resistance and activated by chemical reaction. The vapor-like substance emits a highly visible glowing light, when energized, lasting for several days. All from a relative small amount of vapor suspended in outer space just beyond the Earth’s atmosphere. Scientist plan to deliver and suspend this glowing vapor or gas into the night sky, creating the light show of all time. Easily visible from any point on Earth, the entire night sky will light up, with design, for several days. A few of the glowing designs being considered are the American flag, a huge glowing mirrored replica of the Earth itself, as well as the words “greetings to all mankind” in various languages. The practical future use of this glowing vapor consists in the nature of communications, related to space exploration, as well as possible climate control here on Earth. The dream for this glowing substance for Earth climate control would be to cover huge areas of the sky, deflection and filtering the suns energy, to help cool areas of the Earth during extreme heat and drought. Still in scientific development, the first test will be for all of Earth inhabitants to enjoy, as scientist set to create the biggest night sky light show since creation itself. Scientist predict testing will be ready within 20 years. Many predict much sooner in as little as 10 years. Much of this futuristic light show depends on the delivery system development including future space craft development. That part scientist add, will be up to NASA and international space exploration development. Imagine looking up into the night sky and viewing the American flag, in full color, stretching from hemisphere to hemisphere.

It would suck. The sky would be full of adverts really soon, also the night sky is awesome enough.

I would much rather look at the night sky just as it is now. It is beautiful and most certainly doesn't need any enhancements.

Quoted for permanence. This is brilliant.

It would be cool to create light shows for one day a year, call it astronomy day. Brighter versions of the constellations, lots of shooting stars etc. that would be fun

If you really want to have fun find a place where there is a boat race using no modern day equipment and just using the stars and then screw with them during the night and mess up the arrangement of the stars. :D
