Would you write a book about your life?

Me? I don't know.

On one hand, I do have a lot of interesting life experiences, from early childhood onto now, and I have been to many places, have seen and done many things that most will never see in their lifetime. Still, I don't know if I would want to write a book about it; besides, I'm not even half way there (projected)...

If I write one, the big question is who will read it?!

Maybe one of these days, an autobiography from me, for me. No, not a diary.

Mine would be cliff notes.

Seriously though....I would, and in the 30 years I've been on this earth I already have enough for a trilogy. However, writing it would piss a LOT of people off. I've seen and heard too much.

I think eventually I'd like to ... I'd like for my daughter to know what has shaped me as a person, in hopes that she would understand me better when she's older. Chances of it actually happening though? About 15% :p

My life is full of times where I was being lazy and slacking off. So, no, I could not write a book about my life because it would take too long and I am lazy :D

I don't know. I used to think I had it rough and thought of my upbringing as the most tumultuous and unstable one possible. Now that I'm a bit older I think the stuff I went through and realize that it wasn't uncommon.

I could write a kick-ass story about my trip to Woodstock '94 though, and the subsequent hitchhike home.

Strange; I've often thought of doing just that.

My life has not been a "rags to riches" story by any means, but it sure has been sort of a success story, based on where I was 20 years ago to where I am now. Sadly, 20 years ago, half of the AT Community were a spark in their Daddy's eye. ;)

I may do it someday...what's kept me from doing it is the fear of being sued. Really.

It seems that every time someone writes an autobiography, they get sued by some guy/ex-GF that they talk about in the book. "Mental distress", "slander" etc...all that BS.

Nice thread. I approve.

/stamps APPROVED across top of thread

Am only 28.
All the stuff I did in Kosovo and the middle east, my sexual explorations as a teenager while stationed in Florida, my dads death a few years ago and everything else MIGHT add up to a short story in readers digest.
But not likely.

My life would make a good series of anecdotes and short stories, I think

For just anyone to read? No, I'm not that vain nor have I had an exciting life.

For family? Certainly. Lots of thoughts you normally wouldn't tell in story mode at the dinner table to your kids -- little pieces that could come out on the page. That'd be wonderful I think.

You could share it with your siblings, too. A good way to keep memories alive if your own memory starts to deteriorate.

Different from a journal in that the ideas and memories are fleshed out and conveys exactly what you want to craft for them (what mattered most, not just a big blob of journal text).

I think I remember reading cliffs of that story.

I'm sure each year of your life could be a chapter, or you can lump a period of your life into a chapter. I don't think a book has to have a certain minimum pages to be certified as such, it's the content. ;)

No. I barely have any stories and the following words would describe the most noteworthy events: idiocy, sponge, inaction, idiocy.
