February, 1998 ? Jason creates a one man computer shop operating from his house.

February, 2000 ? Company moved to <sreet> in <town> and started the now defunct ?internet café?? experiment.

September, 2003 ? Jen joins Jason to meet growing demand.

October, 2004 ? Steve joins company as a technician.

July, 2005 ? The <street> location was no longer large enough to meet our needs. We moved to present location after renovations.

July, 2006 ? New corporate identity including logo and website implemented.

Since 1998, we have added four technicians and our customer base has grown to over 1,100 home and business customers as we?ve grown into the local "go-to" company for technology needs.

this is the position i applied for: Service Manager/ Dispatcher responsible for managing service requests and projects, monitoring performance of Service Department, and working close with peers to assure productivity and highest level of customer service.

8 people total work there now. Seems like a rather small company. Looks like they have a store that sells pc hardware and software and they do some IT consulting work, networking type stuff and programming, and pc support.

My main concern is that they are a relatively new and small company and may not pay very well or offer much in benefits, but there's also room for growth and promotions.

I sent them my resume on Monday and have yet to hear from them.

You sound like you're thinking more in a corporate track when you say growth and promotions. This is going to be a do-it-all company so "promotion" isn't going to mean much because you'll be doing any job that needs to be done. Room for growth? May be a good place to grow your skills, sure. Pay could very well be market rate, benefits will likely be average. You'll likely have a lot of flexibility, good coworkers, responsibility and a chance to build your resume if it doesn't have a lot on it right now.

It comes down to work lifestyle - do you want to be in a cube with very set tasks to do or do you want something more open-ended? This will be open-ended for sure.

You might want to see if AT is blocked at work. It's doubtful if it's a tech shop, but you could have some major withdrawals.

You are correct. It most likely will not pay well or offer decent benefits or really much of a chance of promotion. With little mom & pop shops like that, it's par for the course.

Just by looking at the job description, you'll probably top out at $15 an hour with $12-$13 being the starting rate.. (in Midwest pay rates).

I think it's hard to give an honest answer based on the vague description of the company. If that's all I had to go on, then the answer would most definitely be NO.

Wow. Those are pretty cute techs :)

Be warned though, if you haven't worked in a small company, it's like living with a very large disfunctional family. If there is somebody you don't get along with, it's not like you can easily avoid them. Plus every single bit of personal life drama is going to on display for all to see.

If you are used to privacy and personal space, you likely won't get it there.

Agreed - that's exactly the choice you have to make. Seems like a relaxed, laid back place that might be a bit more attractive to work at for money.

Why don't you worry about getting an interview before worrying about whether you'd work for them.

An interview is as much an interview by you to their company as it is the opposite.

You find out the answers to your questions there, or you deal with it as long as you are or are not employed by them.
