Gopunk - disappearing would be totally worth it to expose them.

b0mbrman - As a standard in the navy I held Secret, and had other clearances assigned as needed. And I know the reasons why they do what they do, governments are arrogant self-centered manipulative evil power mongers dedicated to ruling the world despite citizens interfearance.

<< i actually turned down the cia, they wanted the internship to be 6 months which would force me to take a quarter off of school, i told them i wasnt interested. its a very long interview process. >>

i wonder if future employers would view a stint with the cia as a good thing or a bad thing...
>>

im not sure but you probably wouldnt be able to talk about what you worked on with them if you ever left.

i had top secret clearence when i was working for a government contractor, it wasnt that big of a deal i just had access to anti missle specs for boats and some othe semi-cool stuff.

i know this sounds dumb, but what's the difference between a republic and a democracy?

i mean i know, ive been through school :) but this is what i dont get
Democracy=Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives (sounds like us no?)
Republic=A political order in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who are entitled to vote for officers and representatives responsible to them (sounds like us too)

Or am I missing something?

so we are partially a republic in the sense that we elect congress to represent us and make laws but we are also a sort of democracy because we have the electoral college

id always really thought of it as a republic. democracy, to me, is where everyone votes (town meetings for example). so i guess at the big level it's a republic, and at the smaller level, it's democracy?
just never really got (spelled out exactly) what the US was.

I guess...I'm still on the uphill part where everything we do still looks like it's being done for the common good...

Anyhow, there's not too much love lost between me and the CIA. Those jerks love nothing more than to break up an Army CI party because of them and their stupid jurisdiction...

Oh yeah...

Oh, and to answer, of course I would. It's the same as being called to serve for your country (kinda). If they need something (had the appropriate skills) I wouldn't hesitate to help as it could be something the country needs.

Depends.

If they want me as a secretary, or for data processing... well, I'll be quick to pass that up.

nope, there's already so many secrets that the gov't holds from us...i have friends that have worked for the gov't, they tell me only what they're allowed to, but even then its pretty wild and crazy stuff...i kinda wanna know more, but i know it wouldn't be good for me in the long run, it'd probably fvck up my outlook on life...seriously...
