Would you watch self-driving cars in a Nascar/F1 event?

No, the whole point of that racing is driver skill and to a lesser extent, equipment reliability / design

Could be interesting as a separate event. You have cars with same regulations as a normal race except they have a self driving computer but without any of the code to make it work, just the hardware and API. The skill would be in the programmers to program the self driving algorithm themselves. Professional drivers and programmers would be part of the team, as the driver would know about the actual driving, and the programmer would know about the coding. Then they work together to come up with the best algorithms.
