From another thread, I thought about it for a second.
+Make a race that requires vehicles seat 4 people. 3 seats wil lbe filled by 6 foot tall dummies that each require 1"+ of head clearence in all seats. Each dummy weighs 150 pounds.
+make it a 400 mile race that is hilly and has curves. But is still small enough to make it stadium based.
+No more than 5 gallons of low grade gasoline or deisel can be utilized. Other sources can also be used.
+stipulations on how much electricity can be stored in batteries prior to the races start. Along with other storage mediums
+california like emissions regulations.
If done right, this could really bring on better technology. I appreciate that nascar and indy broguht on the concept of colapsable steering columns, crumple zones(possbily?) and other things but we live in a new era.
No it wouldn't cater to the same fan base, but there are people that would watch. This would be a perfect serieis for TLC or the like. 400 miles might be a bit much. Maybe do 50 miles and make the show 60 minutes long, where tech is discussed as the low speeds(due to power source restrictions) might make it boring.
