It occurred to me that we haven't had a president with a mustache since - I couldn't remember when. So I looked it up. Not since President Taft left office in 1913. That's a long time with no mustaches.

The thing is, I have a mustache. So I would like the president to have one, too, so I would always know that when it came down to it, he would not turn his back on the needs of mustache-wearers.

But my brother doesn't have a mustache. Will he always be suspicious of my president, and every time my president does something my brother doesn't agree with, will my brother blame it on my president's mustache agenda?

I think it mainly is due to the microscope people are put under when they do run for public office.

I have just uncovered evidence of a right-wing conspiracy to discredit the mustache:

In 1957, mustachioed Walt Disney introduced a ban on facial hair at Disneyland. He wanted to make sure Disneyland was regarded as a friendly, family oriented place. The ban on mustaches remained intact until 2000.

If and when she runs, I will judge Hillary solely on the issues.
