Would you use toggle bolts or plastic anchors for plaster walls?

id go w/ the toggle bolts. im assuming the plastic anchors are the ones that need a pilot hole then are hammered in. those will rip out of the wall i hate em. go w/ teh toggle bolts.

I've got plaster walls too

Impossible to drill or hammer ... Screws.Nails come loose
after reaching the inside space ... No studs because
plaster works by gooping it across thin peices of wood.
Basically it sucks.

I wouldn't trust hanging anything heavy

there are plastic anchors that fold out like toggles, but you can remove the screw from them without loosing the whole works < like a toggle>.

if you want it to hold under a lot of weight use toggle bolts.

pic.

the bigger 1/4 ones will hold about 200 pounds.. can use them to hang a plasma tv.

You just need a masonry bit to drill plaster....at least they seem to work better.

Toggle bolts will work best I think...but again...I wouldn't expect them to hold too much weight w/ a plaster wall.

The big advantages of plaster are its superior strength and its sound deadening properties. I'll take plaster over drywall any day.
