Not only would I use it, but I would have my date convinced that it was the coolest thing she had ever witnessed in her entire life by the time I produced it.
Ok truthfully that's stretching it. What I would really do is ask her if she liked the place, then I would say, "Well you are going to think this is cheap, but... ah never mind." :) Then when she pesters (which she will), tell her about the coupon and see what happens.

But basically if she had a problem with that, then why the H would you want to be with her anyway. pshhhhhhhhhttttttttttt
basically yes, someone that had a problem with it isn't my type.
I got a coupon for Quiznos. Let's go.

meh, it's all about first impressions i guess. meltdown's approach is just about perfect. He get's man of the week award.

IMHO, that approach is pretty dann good. He works it, he takes care of the check, he slides it in, nice move.

meltdown, you get props. Nice work.[/b}

Of course.

My wife and I used a "buy 1 - get 1 free" coupon at Red Robin last week, yum.

I think a fun first date would be to dine and dash. Then it would be just plain free, no need for coupons.

no way. Not until we got to know each other better and even then I would mention it before hand. I would imagine most women would think "WTF! cheapskate alert! sound the sirens"

one would gather if somebody pulled this, there will be no second date.

yeah but ironically, ideally the woman should be looking for a guy that is careful with his money, saves and plans for the futrue

Yeah, but that would be far too logical. :p

Edit: I wouldn't do it on a first date. If things got serious, I wouldn't give a damn.

I wouldn't plan my night around the coupon, but if there was a use for it I wouldn't hesitate.

No. I've actually not gone to restaurants that I know I could use a coupon at when I was dating, figuring I'd just go to that restaurant once I was in an established relationship. :)

I wouldn't use it for a meal but if you are going to an expensive concert/theme park/etc and it saves you $15-20 I don't see why not.

Not for a first date but its not unusual for my boyfriend to say "Hey, I have a coupon for such-and-such place, do you want to go there this weekend?"

Its a good excuse to go out for dinner and as long as I don't have to order something I don't want in order to use the coupon then I am okay with it.
