Alot of yuo might not think its a big deal but it is to me.

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite A135 with a Geforce Go 7600 directly from Toshiba and it has a RED dead pixel toward the bottom.
I have owned alot of LCDs in my lifetime from monitors to TVs(10+) and I have never had one with a dead pixel.
This is the first one and its annoying.
I know its there and I keep looking for it.

Would you try to get a replacement if it was you ??

You could try running one of those programs that flashes colors all over the screen in an attempt to "unstick" the pixel. If the pixel stood out, I would definitely try to get it replaced, but you may have a hard time doing so since the return policy for Toshiba might have a fixed number of dead pixels before a return/warranty can be performed.

Brainonska is right about that one. For example, most of the LCD monitors that i see on newegg have a policy of 8 stuck/dead pixels or more.

I know that i have this bright spot on my screen along the left side. It isn't noticeable all the time, but I know that it is there. I keep going back and forth on the idea of having it replaced, but as it stands right now, I can't afford to not have my laptop for 2 weeks.

Heck if it is that annoying, return it to the store you bought it from. If you bought via the web, most likely you are stuck with it. Good luck.

I bought it direct from Toshiba.
Its a hell of a deal but I'm gonna have to return it and eat the 15%.
Got my hands on a HP nc8430 and its the perfect laptop right now.

I called them and told them about teh dead pixels and stuff(I told them there was 2).
They were willing to exchange/fix it for me.
I told them I wanted to return it....and they said they will waive th 15% too.
Will see how it goes.

"Would you try to get a replacement laptop with a dead pixel ?"

No, why would I want to get a replacement that has a dead pixel?

I "stuck" pixel is NOT a "dead" pixel. You can typically "unstick" it by some voodoo with applying a little bit of pressure and massaging it etc... google it, there are many guides on the subject.

I know the difference.
I already tried the rubbing and the flashing program and its still there.
Lets lay this to rest.
I already got a RMA and returned it.
