Would you trust Fed Ex or UPS with transporting an expensive piece of artwork?

If you had a pricey piece of artwork you needed to have delivered to a location several thousand miles away, which one would you trust with it?

It depends. If it was possible I would hand carry it on a plane. Otherwise I would contact either directly. I am sure they have special channels for that type of stuff.

I had thought about that, but the frame is rather large. If they allowed it, it would fit in the back standing up.

If it's properly insured, who cares?

The monetary compensation received if it were destroyed would be of small comfort since the piece itself is irreplaceable.

I'd be way too worried to do it myself if it were a one time thing. Leave it to the guys that do it on a daily basis.

Also, it would be wise to check with Fedex on insurance policies - can you insure it for what the owner would feel it's worth even if that's more than what he paid for it?
