not a parody. i was just thinking about how physically demanding it could be to be a cop. so it only makes sense for them to stay fit and healthy.

but i see many fat cops that probably couldn't walk a block without losing their stamina. would you feel safe having a fat cop around in a hostile situation?

Most cops started as piss poor students with no real career prospects and ended up as a cop because it paid better than working at McDs. They don't take their job seriously so why should I take them seriously?
 
I've never understood how cops let themselves get so out of shape. I hump a desk a desk 8 hours/day and still manage to work out for an hour or so... and I don't have to chase bad guys.

Coupled with the fact that the profession attracts those with the need to wield power...
 
err I think "trust" is the wrong word.

IF i was a cop and my partner was fat would i feel safe? no.

If a fat cop wanted to talk to me would i trust him? no. would i trust a in shape cop? no.

To answer the question:
I wouldn't 'trust' them in a phsycially demanding situation. Chasing a perp down, or running to aid someone is something that SHOULD require minimum physical condition standards.
 
Well.
One of the last times I was pulled over, was by a fat cop.
I was high as hell & had weed in the vehicle.
Asked why my eyes were glazed, said I been up since early am, then asked if I had any drugs in the vehicle & I suspiciously replied no. He was like alright well go get some sleep. Goodbye.
One of the nicest officers I've had to deal with.
Last time I drove with weed in my car. I stopped smoking weed some time after that, altogether.
 
Every asshole cop I've ever encountered in my life has been a fattie or a chunky guy on his way to being one. No exaggeration.
