Um, you have to. I'd gather that refusing to do so would be considered insubordination, and you'd probably end up in solitary confinement (regardless of what you fear happening in the shower, solitary confinement is horrible - at least according to the two people I know who have spent time in jail).

we all know the best way to get respect in jail is to do everything the head gangster requests...sure, it will *suck* for a while, but hey...after a few months, you will be high up, that you can push people around...

I know 2 people that have been to county jail before, and we live in a pretty rough area. None of this jail rape crap is apparently true. A matter of fact they said the showers even had curtain like material in between.
