Well, I've never been to New Mexico and I'm pretty happy where I am living now so New Mexico would have to be great however, if I was jobless and that was offered to me, I'd probably go for it.

No benefits meaning no medical, dental, etc? no 401k? I'd check into what the costs of those things are knowing you're going to put those things in your budget.

Do you like the job? If so give it a shot. If you are just supporting yourself, I'm sure you can get by on 70k!

How is your health?

I spend about $74 a month on life insurance (not work related) - $20 copay, $20 drugs, $2500 deductible on hospital visits (I think). Not that expensive. No dental but I'm 22, fvck my teeth 🙂 I take good care of them anyway

(My answer is yes)

You can always buy your own insurance so I would. But what about sick time, vacation time, etc. are those benefits that you don't get?

Im not poor but 70 is about 30k more a year than i make now.

how long would the opportunity be for? short term, long term? room for growth?

for 30K more i would 99% move barring any crazy circumstances you are not mentioning.

edit: you realize a 30K raise would mean that its a 75% pay raise?

Thanks Ameesh

I that this would be huge for me.

Lots of room for growth in the company plus a great job title = more money next time.

Is the cost of living lower in New Mexico than where you live? If so why not take the job, 30k raise, room to grow, lower cost of living. Sure insurance costs some money but if everything else is positive why not?

How old ar you? Just buy some major medical on the cheap and forget dental. Most dental plans suck anyway better to pay cash from what I've seen from most plans nowerdays.

New Mexico IMO is the best state in the union. Dry, hot, no bugs, wide open space for riding 4wheeling hunting etc. Plus some great sking.

Figures nobody here knows how much health coverage is. Everybody bitches when their co-pay is increased, but have no idea how much the premiums have skyrocketed for the employers. Just another one of those things our workers are automatically entitled to, eh?

Figure around $500.00 per month, depending on deductible etc.

I have pretty decent health insurance, and mine is about $320 a month. (covered by my company of course).

EDIT: and i'm 25 and single.

This might help with a cost of living comparison.

If I were single and 25 I'd have been there already!
