I have the $15 one, bought it at newegg around 2003 or something like that. Used to use it when I gamed but over the years I stopped gaming and I don't use it anymore. I wouldn't buy one again if asked though, I prefer the table now instead.

It does wear down see this pic

I used to play CS competitively--I spent around $30 for my first gaming pad, which was a Steelpad 3S. I later won a QcK in a tournament and I've been using it ever since. My cousin uses the Icemat v2, and it's very nice if you like hard pads.

So, yes.

i hate mousepads. they soak up sweat and are gross

most any gaming pad is a slab of unabsorbent material, but its true, cheapo pads are horrible. esp cloth ones.
pads are horribly over priced, the ratz were reasonably priced though, under 20 dollars for a slab of plastic is not too bad, not so great either. i think they are only really worth about 10 dollars. it does save your desk from wearing through the finish

When the Athlon 64 launched they had that 'virtual scratch ticket' campaign. Well, I won a 'competition mousing surface' from FUNC. it was ~$45.00, IIRC.

That was in 2003 and I'm still using it. It's pretty sweet, actually. I'd buy another one of these. Considering all the mouse pads I had before were shit and I'd probably spent close to 45 on multiple ones.
I got that same mouse pad in that same contest. I did like it a lot, but dirt seemed to clump up or something on it. I got a nice HP gaming pad just recently for under $15 and it's pretty nice.

Just curious. I'm using some free promo pad that came with my last build. *looks at pad* it's a promo pad for the game Lost Planet which I've never played but hay it was free. But I know people actually buy mouse pads. How much would you spend on a pad? Here are some examples:

10 bucks: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...re=Steelseries

Up to

50 bucks!: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...re=Steelseries

I'm sure you could spend even more.

No, cause I don't use a mouse.
