Would you say this is Homophobic?

I myself have a gay brother and know a couple of gay guys myself....I have no issue with it whatsoever.

I have a friend though who says that he is not homophobic and when people say he is....he gets really angry about it.

But he does the following:

At anything gay he looks like he is physically ill and disgusted
He feels uncomfortable around gays and it's obvious he does
One of my gay friends once pinched his arse as a laugh, he said he was gonna kill him
Once I sat next to him in the pub rather than opposite him and he said "it looks weird" and moved to the other side

Now, I know he's not some kind of psycho who goes around killing gays but surely, it's a classic case of homophobia, no?

Yep. Your friend has some serious issues and needs to lighten up a little.

Sounds like he needs a thpanking... that's all it took for me!

Oh behave

:disgust:

i'm admit..i'm homophobic...sorry

logically, i really try not to be and really try my best to respect gays. I know a couple and they're really nice people. I really try not to think about it. But deep inside, i do feel a certain uneasiness, and i can't get rid of it. I guess it's innate...

Mwilding: Because joining an evolutionary dead-end is cool!

If a gay man feels uncomfortable being with a straight woman, I should not be accusted of being narrow minded if I feel uncomfortable being around a gay guy. It is my choice and you should accept my difference of opinion!

I think in general that would make both you and the gay man in your example narrow minded...

In my experience women and gay men get along better on average than straight men and straight women when it comes to feeling comfotable, being friends etc because there is no sexual element to get in the way....I actually envy how easy gay men get along with women some of the time!

I think that if you are homophobic and you're not like proud of it but it is just the way you are....then admit it....I don't get people who say they are one thing when they are not...I guess that's part of it.

I went to one of my brothers parties a few months back....70% gay guys....I just got drunk and had a laugh with everyone....my mate would have been in the corner wearing steel boxers....

Yeah, we can accept the fact that you're a narrow-minded pinhead. I hope you'll accept my opinion in that regard.

Yes, this is purely based on empirical evidence, but I don't know any gay men or women who have issues with people based purely on their heterosexuality. I certainly have observed the reverse, however.

So, it IS a double standard.

I don't agree with homosexuality therefore I am narrow minded...

You don't agree with my view but you are not narrow minded...

.....that makes sense.

Hmmm.....I can see your point....and maybe you shouldn't be flamed but obviously you are homophobic, it's always difficult to see why someone should be afraid/uncomfortable/dislike something when you don't.....from this to totally different things like...say...spiders.

Edit: changed Homophonic to Homophobic....Homophonic could means you are gay and can sing well....

Call me what you will, I really don't give a rat's ass. I don't like homosexual behavior. And don't bother spoon feeding me the "you should be less narrow minded" or "you're a closet homosexual". I find homesexual behavior unnatural and disgusting. Notice I said "behavior" before you (try to) pick me apart.

I can accept the fact that you have a different opinion and I can look at this issue from both sides, but I still don't agree with it. If I ignored the fact that you had a valid opinion and refused to consider it, that would make me narrow-minded.
