Would you rent this apartment?

I rented this one for five times the price, instead.
Reminds me of my first apartment in Queens. My bathroom was a little smaller and the kitchen wasn't separate, but my living area was a bit bigger and I had a balcony. Anyways, very livable...actually, I kinda miss it in a nostalgic kind of way.

EDIT: Oh wait, that's a 1BR, it looked like a studio (hard to tell when there's no furniture, all the rooms look the same). That's quite a deal.

If you gonna do it, do it right.

I think that's closer to the correct count.

The techno remix had just a few more though. 😀

I just did a 5 minute search and found a 1000 sq ft apartment for that in my town

Here

i would not trust the prince these websites quote. they frequently off mark.

I actually looked at about 5 places I found through that site a year ago and never had a problem in this area. I actually used to live a few miles away from that place and my apartment was nicer and cheaper.

the price isn't bad with everything included, all you would have to worry about is food and like phone/net/cable but wow pretty low budget. if you really needed to move out in a hurry though and didn't have much money that would be the transitional place

Where's the apartment located? 340 a month seems really expensive to me for an unfurnished basement apartment that looks to be that old. I mean, you literally have to buy everything from the shower curtain up. In addition, taking its age into consideration, I don't know if internet/tv jacks would be available.

I would not rent it.

Dude, 340 per month is damn cheap.

A) Better than some dorm rooms I've seen (and lived in) while remaining considerably cheaper

B) Slightly worse than my current apartment, which I rent for about $510 per month before electric

Wow, $340. Where do you live? That's a bargain. I'm paying $1,000 for a 290 square ft studio.

The hell? 290 square feet??!?!?!

Your apartment isn't much bigger than my single car garage. Heck, the area designated as my livingroom/ diningroom (all one big room) is larger than that. And I live in an apartment too!

Edit: As for the apartment in the op. I wouldn't live there now but there was a time when I would have jumped on that.

Is space your primary concern? Large, clean one-bedroom basement apartment for one person available now in smoke-free, pet-free building. $340 per month includes heat, water, trash, electric, and off-street parking for one vehicle; located five blocks south of the square in quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance of the public library, post office, grocery store, and bus routes; photos available; deposit, references required.

Wow, I really can't see anyone living here. I guess it may be better than some places out there.

I've paid more for worse.

That place looks like somewhere a serial killer would live, whiling away his waking hours shaving off his fingerprints and writing his crazy thoughts in 1000 journals (a la Se7en). It looks like a former crack den.

Oh come on people, we rented our basement with a kitchen and full bathroom out to 3 college girls for $350 per month. Just make it a real bathroom with a shower. FYI we started at $300 and got a lot of white trash applicants, then upped it to $350 and got decent folk go figure.

That doesn't include all utilities, though. After paying for utilities the total would be around $500 a month or more.

In reality, the OP's rental is more like $200 a month.

lol. looks like the heating was an afterthought, good luck with internet.

It looks like a refitted basement, which would explain the exposed pipes.
