would you recommend WD Red 2 TB for a home server?

The "server" is really an older desktop that is being used as a web server and a backup drive.
I want more disk space. My other PCs back up to this drive every night.

Performance is not really that important.
Reliability and noise level is important.

I will not be using RAID.

All I really want is an inexpensive, reliable 2 TB drive.

Would you recommend the WD Red 2 TB?
Somthing else?

For $35 more get the 3TB amounting to 33% more space. Skip a few lunches this week and you're their!

The PC is an older system board and I don't think it supports drives larger than 2 TB.
Does WD have a tool that will let an older bios recognize the bigger driive?

More specifically, it is an Asus K8v Deluxe motherboard that only supports SATA drives. Not SATA 2 or SATA 3.
Also, it is now running Windows Server 2008. Should I upgrade that?

Will I need a bios software patch?
Will I need to add a new SATA 3 card?
