Would you rather have a cold that last 3 weeks or be violently ill for a couple days?

Well? Cold or gut-wrenchingly deathly ill (but will survive) for a couple days?

  • Cold for a couple/few weeks.

  • Ebola+H1N1+West Nile+Bubonic Plague+Herpes from Oldsmoboat - clears up in a couple.

  • The obvious un-answer that rhymes with "Your Mom" that unerringly gets around 36% of the vote.

i'd rather be super sick for a day or two... three days is pushin it... that way i could at least call in sick... instead of still having to come to work all snotty / sneezy.

tough call but i'd say short term is always better... I have had a rough cough for a week and my 2 kids had that and fevers... it has been a very long week.

I've had debilitating migraines that only last a day... rather have that than this cough that keeps everyone up at night.

Depends on how serious the violently ill one is. (ie. me going to hospital, no way)

I chose the cold. I've had extended colds for over a week or two before when I was younger... it's never that bad though. The symptoms like a congested nose(usually the only issue for me) could be mitigated with the right medicine. On the other hand, I being on a deathbed for 2 days could do things to you psychologically... If it's as bad as you say, I might've thought I might be dying. I rather not have that hanging over my head for 48 hours.
