Simple question.

Would you rather have 15% more performance , or a card that uses 15 less watts. Both cards using over 190 watts.

please keep it simple.

performance or 15 less watts

This is not how we sort out our differences of opinion in these forums...if we condoned this effort to sort out your difference of opinion with blastingcap then we'll have 10 poll threads per day happening every time two forum members fail to see eye-to-eye on a matter.

Find a way to amicably and civilly come to an agreement in the thread that originated this disagreement or figure out a way to just let it go.

Depends on how fast the card is.

I'd rather not run out of battery on my notebook all the same, thanks.

Happy seems to think that GTX460 is 15% faster than HD6850 and wants to deny the fact that 15 watts at idle, 24/7, at 13 cents/kWh adds up to ~$17/year. He is clouding the issue to make it seem that the 15w difference is only at load. I have given my response here:

For the record, I don't appreciate Happy doing this as some sort of way to call me out personally.

If it's 15W, then it obviously depends. If the 15W is on top of something like the 5450, which only has a TDP of 19.1W anyway, then I'd obviously go for the 15W less. But if it's something like the GTX480, which has a TDP closer to 300W, then 15W is no big deal compared to 15% extra performance.

So in summary your question is flawed. And so is your poll.

Thats a good point I changed the op to about 190 watts.
