Would you rather have 2 terms of 4 classes each...

Hey folks,
I'm in my junior year of college right now, and I'm trying to decide if I should drop my 5th class or not.

If I keep the 5th class, I can get away with only 3 classes (maybe even 2) the spring term of my senior year, which would be pretty awesome. Alternatively that would leave more open space for pursuing random interests instead of filling requirements.

On the other hand, I can go for 2 balanced semesters, which means more free time right now. (I've been doing 5+ classes for a while now, so the extra free time from 4 would definitely be enjoyed.)

What do y'all think?

Are you dropping it for any good reason? If not just keep it, once you're already going to school adding or taking just one class doesn't really make a difference.

Also why don't you keep it, take 3 classes in the summer, and graduate in the Fall?

I say you do 5 classes now and then 3. Since you have beeing doing 5 + classes, only 5 would be ok and then you can relax your last semester and probably take some other fun or interesting classes.

Don't you lose financial aid (and insurance coverage under your parents) if you go to part time?

Tuktuk: The only reason to drop would be to free up some extra time this term. I'd probably end up taking the same class next spring because the options to fill this particular requirement are limited.

Also, summer-school does not offer the classes I need to graduate. Actually summer school doesn't offer much of anything at my school.

BigJ: My dad works overseas, and his company has some other company doing our taxes, and they're several years overdue now... so no financial aid. Though I think he makes enough that I wouldn't get much anyway. My parents wouldn't mind if I took less than the standard load (4 classes here).

tfinch2: I'm double majoring in aerospace engineering and math. After this term, what's left of my requirements will be 2 humanities classes, 2 lab classes (in aero), and 1 or 2 more restricted aero electives (2 if I drop a class now, 1 if I don't). But I'll be taking graduate courses in my senior year, so there will be plenty to keep me busy... lol
