would you rather be short and chiseled or tall and skinny?

i see a bunch of short diesel guys at the gym...
they're about 5'5", maybe 5'7" tops and all pretty built, big arms, nice broad chest and shoulders, ripped 6 pack, etc.
not body builder or wrestler on steroids big, but pretty built and defined.

i'm kind of tall and lean at 5'10" 170, muscles don't exactly pop out of my clothes, no 6 pack, but no beer belly and i was thinking, I would rather be myself than be like them.

being short sux IMO.

what about y'all?

oh, and do not choose tall because u think u can put on the weight/muscle later.
u are skinny by genetics and there is not much u can do about it.

I was gonna say... 5'10" is not tall. I mean, hell, there's a 4 inch height difference in your poll... That's just silly.

How about 4'9", 185 pounds, ripped, versus 6'9" 185 pounds, essentially a human kite.

I'm 6'5" and like it this way.

The only real bummer is being much taller than average I end up having to duck for things pretty often. I can't imagine what 6'9"+ people do. Most cars are uncomfortable to me, lacking both headroom and legroom (my planet-destroying Sequoia being an exception). I have to duck for chandeliers sometimes - going down stairwells , especially in older homes, there are often points I have to tilt my head or end up hitting. Basements are almost never tall enough for me unless the home's new(ish). Nice, well-fitting clothes are also a pain to find; dress clothes doubly so. Woe is me, right? :p

File under sad but true. But sadder still is the buffed short guy. It screams 'compensating'

You can't fix short. But you can at least try to fix skinny.

again, for the purposes of the poll/thread.
realistically speaking, no one is going to choose being 5' but there will be those who aspire to be ripped and will sacrifice height to get to it.

that's exactly the way i see it.
he spends 2 hours at the gym each day trying to compensate for being short.

i won't hate on it though. at least it's better than short and fat/skinny.
just don't over do it and it won't look as desperate.

Tall and Skinny please. Though I am in pretty good shape as I run about 3.5 miles a night and weight lift (6 foot 2, 180lbs at about 9% body fat).

I dont think I could handle being short...

I'm 6'6 and drive a Subaru Legacy. I agree with most of what you're saying though, especially hitting my head going down a staircase.

Eh, 5'10" is shorter than I am now, so I pick neither.
