Definitely respected. I'd rather be known for the quality of my work than the quality of my personality. :p

Respect has to be earned; so if people like you, it's more likely that you can gain their respect as well. ;)

I don't know. Personally, I feel that respect is more important as it is work related.

That may be the correct answer per some stupid HR person. An ops person who's job is to drive profit margin up, get stuff done, and actually ADD VALUE TO THE SHAREHOLDERS, would want to be respected.

There is no right answer. Like implies friendship qualities and that has nothing to do how good that person does their job. You can also respect someone's work abilities and dislike interacting with them. IMO a business should be interested in respect more since it corresponds better with job competence. Someone who stands around BS'ing all day could be the most "likeable" person in the office.
