I can't stand labels and how some channels make it out like being interested in computers is some sort of other culture that isn't cool. If that was the case, playing football in high school should have landed me all the women. It's BS.

To me:

Geek is someone that acts uncool, doesn't party, few friends, etc. Generally includes being a nerd.

Nerd is someone good with computers/math/science and enjoys it. Doesn't mean the person can't be cool and in the social scene.

geek is a somewhat affectionate term, that is used (towards me) as kinda playful; over exagerating your nerdiness.

Nerds take pride in being nerds. and so far, the thread has proved that. I bet it will continue to unless someone makes this comment a big deal.

nerd. if you say geek, people assume you have no life, don't play sports, and have no friends.

nerds are just people who know a lot about one particular thing. most of my girl frineds call me a nerd jokingly becuase I talk about computers a lot with my other computer nerd friends.
