Would you quit your job and never look back?

I recently did it and I'm happier than I've been in a long time :)

I got fired from a job and never looked back. It sucked because I sold a lot of stuff to pay my bills, but I think I'm in a better place now.

I got fired at the end of May. I wasn't too concerned because I hated it. It was a horrible job for me, I think it will be a major turning point career wise. I'm not too crazy about this whole "climbing the corporate ladder" thing anymore :)

hell yeah. I like my job, but if I were financially set for the rest of my life without having to work, basically I'd travel alot and do other work/hobbies/projects that really interest me.

Well, this sort of happened to me. A few years back, I would often wonder what it would be like if I was doing something different in my life. About this time, I was approached regarding a "buy-out". The thing is, my position was being eliminated and I didn't have a choice. I took my year's worth of pay, signed up for unemployment benefits - which I was able to collect at the same time and never looked back.

Plus, I retained all of the stocks that I purchased as an employee and retain rights to a pension when I become eligible to retire - quite a long ways down the road, though.

I wouldn't. Seriously. I My job. I would probably cut down on hours though. Maybe to 20 a week or so.

If I won a substantial amount, I'd be gone and 95% of the people I know would likely never hear from me again.

Yep. I'd leave and just wander around for a while. Find someplace, stay until I got tired of it, and then find someplace else.

Yes I definitely would. My work sucks

But this brings up a good point. For how much would you do something you absolutely hate for a living without constantly looking for another job? Seems like a lot of people aren't entirely happy with their job.

If I could do it from a financial standpoint, it would imply I could retire. Or buy a sports team. So yes.
