Would you push the button?

You come up to a small stand in the middle of a lobby with a shiny red button on it. Above the button is a plaque that says "Push me." What bothers you is you have no idea what the button does, but nobody else seems willing to press the button. Everyone does their best to intentionally ignore it. You notice an emergency medical kit nearby and a guard intently staring at you. You start to walk away, but your curiousity gets the better of you. What harm can come of pressing the button? Would you press the button or no?

Hell yes I would push the button. I also try handles on closed classroom doors when bunches of people are sitting outside the room, because a couple times the door's been unlocked and nobody thought to try the handle. :Q

If you push the button, turn to page 63.
If you don't push the button and walk away, turn to page 85.

I use to read those books when I was a kid. :D Problem was, I would cheat and figure out which decisions I was supposed to make. ;)

I think it gives you a list of who all the moderators are. The guard is staring at you because he's wondering if you're actually gonna push it. The med kit is in case you pass out from the shockingness of the knowledge.

No one's pushed it yet because for most people, ignorance really is bliss.

I always just flipped to the next page.

I kept my finger in the decision page and flipped to what I thought was the best decision to see what happened. For more complex stories I made a diagram on a piece of paper of where each decision led and then read the ones that looked interesting.

I was such a geek. Oh wait, I still am. :D
