No.

It would be really tempting, especially since I might not see/hear the consequences, but there is no justification for that (not even a million dollars), so no.

Yeah, then he brings the box to the next person and that person gets to decide if YOU die.

I'd call up Bill Gates and tell him that he can save a person's life for $2 million.

That's not nearly enough money. Plus I'd want a guarantee that I'd be exempt from being the killee at some point.

I would push it repeatedly.
People would be dropping dead in the street and I would still push the button.
I would tell them to come back the next day so I could push it again.

On a related note, if I received that offer from someone, and I knew they were serious and the button actually had that power, I would more likely consider beating the crap out of that person than pushing the button for a million.

Reminds me of Joker's set up in "Dark Knight", or the notebook in "Death Note".

Hmmm, I could help a lot more than one person with a million dollars.

Sorry Child's Play kids, this year your DS Lites will all be covered in blood!!

Unfortunately for you, all the Child's Play kids are in their hospitals with laptops lurking on AnandTech, and they will report you to the authorities.

You, sir, are going down.

Give me the Box and I would push the button - fuck it.
I would even pick out the people that croak!
I would drive down the street pushing the button - don't need that fat chick walking down the road, bam! Don't need those three kids, bam, bam, bam! Looks like an illegal Mexican to me, bam! Some old dude walking with his grandchild, fuck 'em, bam, bam! A flock of geese, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam!

Sure, why not.

The "New" Twilight Zone episode "Button, Button" was very good. A little worried about this becoming a movie.

Maybe not for one million but for 8 million there is (the government calculates on average that a person is worth 8 million dollars).

Does this button have a rapidfire switch? Because I would have to turn it on and just hold it down for a couple hours.

No wonder the government is so fucked. Have you seen the average person lately? I wouldn't value them at more than 200 bucks, and that's the average!

Good point. I think I'd shoot the dirt bag in the face.

I'd keep pushing till the guy sitting in front of me drops dead

Also, if I didn't know who died, it would be like the thing about the tree falling with no one around to hear it.

Absolutely. 1 million dollars is over a million times more valuable than the lives of those who would die from the button.
