Here is the latest notice to all users at the top of the board:
"Folks, and folkettes (both of you) we were the victims of a serious forum breach early this morning, possibly from aliens, we're not sure.
Our field hospitals are littered with the horribly wounded and the merely annoyed, their blood curdling complaints chilling us all.
We will fight on the beaches, and in the hills and sub-forums, so that our valor or at least our sheer stubbornness will be long cherished and dearly remembered.
For as long as the English language is misused men will say, "This was their finest hour ... sort of.""
When I first read the notice I wondered if the whole thing was just a joke. Then I clicked in but it left me wondering, is this the proper way to announce to the world that our highly technical forum has been hacked.
Instead of a long winded witty write up, one would think that relevant information such as what is being done about the breach, the consequences and precautions user might want to take would have been included in the notice.
Frankly I think the notices should be used to alert users of important development regarding the AT community, not as a platform for some to test their creative writing.
And for the record I found the notice humorous but I don't think it belongs there.
