Hell no. I love my MX1000... but I waited until I found it on amazon for less than $40 before I picked one up.

If you're that uptight about gaming that you think a $70 mouse is going to give you a better game then you need a reality check. As long as you are using a "better than the bare minimum" mouse, you're fine. A sucky player is sucky no matter what they are playing the game with.

Are you talking about the G5?

I bought one because my MX510 died and I wanted something with newer(We're talking FREAKING LASERS).

Well I didn't care much for that mouse. The texture was all wrong and the movment didn't feel right. I took it back to best buy and got a MX518 from Compusa(20 bucks cheaper) I'm glad I did.

I did in 1998/1999 for the first generation intellimouse because I was tired of crap stuck in my rollers getting me killed in Quake 3. RMA'ed that twice... then spent 25$ on the MX500 and 60$ on the MX1000. I really don't feel like you can put a price on the comfort of anything you use 8+ hours a day.

I would pay $70 for a mouse, but not that mouse. That thing looks akward at best. It would have to be an insanely comfortable mouse for me to put down that kind of money for one.

No, for wired mice I like the MS Wheel Mouse Optical (~$15), but the most I've paid is $30 for my MS Wireless Notebook mouse. No way on $70.

If I had the money and wanted a really good gaming mouse then I "might" consider it but I don't game enough to even care and every game I've played like HL2 or Doom3 have all worked fine with my MX700.

I wouldn't pay $70 for a corded mouse, even if I'm not sure if it really works effectively.

I game a bit. And I have always used the super basic microsoft mouse with ball, 2 buttons and a wheel. I'm not bad in 3rd person shooters, does it really make much of a difference the type of mouse as long as it is working properly?

I think it does. I play MUCH better with a high end gaming mouse rather than a standard mouse. I would rather not play a game at all now then have to play it with a non-gaming mouse.

What the hell is:
"a 16 bit data path, 1000 MHz ultrapolling"

Where is the 16 bit data path exactly? Are they polling the image sensor/processor at 1GHz? WTF?

My $10 Logitech Premium Optical Wheel Mouse works just fine for games.

No. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for a mouse. Most of my mice are plain old bottom of the line Logitech optical corded wheel mice. I have about 10 of them. I've had better mice - I had the MX700 when it came out and was the greatest mouse in the history of the world. I like my bottom of the line mice just as well. I don't know why people spend a ton of money on mice unless it's for gaming.

The mouse I currently have cost me 80 bucks. I've been using it for probably close to 8 years.

I love it.
