This guy did :)

It's got quite a lotta games, I wouldn't believe the guy though. He has a "0" rating :p

[edit] Actually, the reserve was never met; I wonder what it was... [/edit]

The sad thing is, one of my friends(yes, I have friends) Has most of the games on that list and a lot more that aren't on the list.

Right now he is almost bankrupt and is in desperate need of money to get a new car so he doesn't have to borrow old POSes from people. But he said that he wouldn't sell any of his games or systems PERIOD.

WTF is wrong with him.
Sh1t. in big D $70K would buy a nice car and put a huge downpayment on a nice house, but his anal retentive pack rat mentality can't see it.

If any body could make him go "missing" I will happily split the proceeds.

I don't know. He has quite a few games there and the reserve he put was higher than $70K, the reserve was most likely like $100K

It IS quite expensive, and originally a sale price probably nears the figure he wants, but no way would I pay for that lot :) And besides it's all second hand now. Half that maybe :>

Besides, the sort of CLASSIC games collection I'd like to own (well, mostly do anyway hehe) covers complete collections of machines like Commodore 64, Amiga, Speccy etc.. not these console kiddy machines :)

wow that was a list, 500 would have been sweet, 70k out there, but if they are as mint as the guy says, then its kinda worth it, but damn that guy had a nice collection, woulda been really worth it if he'd had the colleco's and ataris, though

I wouldn't have bid (even if I had the money). The guy just doesn't look trustworthy...

Man, if you're paying $70k+ (probably more as his reserve is probably 100k), you're stupid if you don't take precautions. I would even fly there and inspect the stuff myself, then hire a moving company to deliver the stuff home.

The final bid price on all those games : 70,000
The cost of getting emulators and roms of those games: 0

$70,000 buys a LOT of hookers

Ok, there cant be more than 1000 games there, if that. Doing the math, that means you are paying $70 a game!

Anyone who pays $70 for "Normys Beach Babe O Rama" should be punched in the face repeatedly.

Someone could easily make a MUCH bigger collection of games for much less of a price, with a little work.

No. Where the fsck am I going to find time to play all of those damn games? Just having them collect dust is pretty dumb if you ask me.

if anything they are losing value. Aside from a select few, this list is nice to look at but in practicality about 80% of these games are waaaaay to old to play anymore. Sure if you are mentally stuck in a time when 3d graphics were nil you might be obtuse enough to pay for this set, but to anyone else they should realize that there are better things being made right now...
