Okay fine, but you're obviously not realizing what you're actually saying. Throwing out a statistic like "most criminals come from a poor background" so you therefore would like an economically segregated society is ludicrous. You could just as easily throw out a stat like "many criminals are black" and then say you don't want to live near black people for that reason. Being poor, or black, or whatever doesn't make you somehow automatically predisposed to criminal activity. Causation != Correlation. As already pointed out, the kids of your CEO neighbors could very well break into your house and steal your stuff because they were bored, not because they needed the money. Wealthy isolation will not insulate you from crime, sorry.Originally posted by: TC2181

So basically, you're not even talking about an economically-divided society? Or are you? Because you said poor people are criminals, and now you're saying most of them are good, but there are some that aren't and you don't like those people. Most likely. But, am I so bad to want to not live in the midst of white trash? I know most lower class people are good, and I have no problem with them, its just the "others" that I have problems with, and I would rather not live around them.
Have you even been outside the gate at the front of your neighborhood? You sound like a sheltered 14 year-old, to be honest with you.
I am talking about an economically divided society. Can you read? I did not say poor people are criminals. I said most criminals (again I must specify, murderers, thieves, rapists) come from the lower class. Also, I would appreciate it if you would stop making simple minded assumptions of my character, and my background. I'm trying to be serious here.
I realize this. I've seen criminals who are well off/wealthy. I, personally, would feel more comfortable living within my own social class. Not that is right, and i'm sure there will still be crime, but I think I would feel safer. I base most of my arguments on personal experience, as i've seen in and out of the justice system, that a high percentage of the crime in my town is in the "ghetto."
