So there are positions in Africa doing some engineering junk for Schlumberger. They apparently pay about 400k or a bit under. Would you do it?

It seems like sudan and the people's republic of the congo can't be that bad.

I would live like the movie Blood Diamond for 400k a year. The risk would be worth the money and the adventure. I would also hire some guns though.

It sounds like a decent deal until you realize that it's most likely contract based and your take home is about half that amount after Uncle Sam bends you over the tax barrell.

And when you come back home you have a whole new column of questions that are relavent the next time you go to donate blood.

also depends if i can carry a gun or not

cause if they're offering 400k for a postion thats normally 60k in the US, u know something is wrong
 
Africa is fvcking huge. I wouldn't move to Darfur for any amount of money, but not all of Africa is that dangerous.
