Would you let your primary care doc remove a mole?

So I was at the doctor recently and he found a "suspicious looking mole" on my back that he wants to remove it and have autopsied.

I guess I'm not too worried about it scarring or anything since it's on my back but do you think I should insist on having a more experienced dermatologist remove it all the same? Don't they usually handle this kind of stuff?

Should be fine if he isn't a total putz. Also, if you are concerned about scarring, let him know so that he can suture accordingly. He wouldn't do it anyway if he's any good, but if you don't ask him to suture, he may just cauterize (= bigger scar)

Any decent family practitioner should be able to do it. I had a mole taken off by mine with no problems.

It also depends how he is going to remove it.

If he is going to shave it off, then I wouldn't worry about it.
