From a conversation with my friends last night:

You find out that in one year, your best friend, someone you've known your whole life, will be responsible for your death.

Even if you plead with your friend, lock him in a box, or move to the hills, he will still kill you. There is one way to save yourself, if your friend dies first you will be saved.

Knowing that this is the only way to save your life would you attempt to kill him/her?

I think he's trying to ask "if America is threatened by a hostile nation is it okay for America to destroy them". I'll just leave it at that until I can confirm what he's getting at.

Of Course, if they were going to do it intentionally. If it was unintentional, then I honestly don't know.

Heh...That's a nice 'what if'.

Too be honest, my reaction to this 'enlightenment' would depend on his reason/motive for wanting to kill me.

My answer: Maybe

Amplifier, feel like giving us more details as to WHY the friend is going to kill you/me/us?

I'm one of those people who seems to lack that thing called selfpreservations(As in, I don't have a fear of death), so I might or might not kill this so-called friend depending on said friends motive/reason.

I left it vague purposely. All I want the reader to know is that this person will be responsible for their death. And that by killing the person they can save their life. If I made it anymore specific it would be an easier question to answer.

I'm not sure what you & your friends smoke/drink, but maybe it's time to ease off. ;)

Off topic? (though I can understand not wanting to post there)

It depends WHY he will kill you.

Hmm, in about a year my friend would have a very difficult time finding me. No, I wouldn't kill him/her.

Answer to first question: Yes

Amended question: If your friend was going to kill you in order to save the life of an immediate family member, would you kill your best friend to save your life even knowing that by doing so both your "best" friend and their family member would die? As with above it is completely unavoidable, either you die or they do (and their family member).

go beat on a tree if you got some steam to blow, atleast your friend won't be hurt by you intentionally.

How about: You "know" that in exactly one day YOU will kill your beautiful, loving wife, and the ONLY way to stop it is if you die first. Would you kill yourself?

The problem with questions like this is that there is absolutely no way you could possibly "know" with certainty, so any possible answer is meaningless.

Suppose you "knew" the Jesus was just a fanatical Jew, and not the son of God. Would you foresake religion and become an atheist?

There's always one smartass. Did you just figure out that the hypothetical isn't possible Shira? Congrats on the rhetoric skils :).

p.s. I take it back, there's alway 123124312 of them.

Depends...I have to see the reason. What if 6 months from that time I go beserk and kill his family? Does he have a reason to kill me? Is there something else? It sounds initially like he is a bloodthirsty killer randomly when that isn't the truth~
