if there came to be a substitute that tasted just like meat and was more nutritious would you give up eating real meat? why or why not?

i was thinking more of vat-grown mammal muscle. that way you're not limited to just cows or pigs, you can also eat gorilla, elephant, human, etc.

Hm... I remember a movie that involved vat-grown flesh from supermodels as lunchmeat.

Hmmm....may sound gross, but why eat the real thing, which would probably be more expensive, when you can have something JUST LIKE the real thing only BETTER for you, without chance of disease etc.?

If the technology comes around,

i might consider it for health reasons...but future generations surely will consume it without a second doubt.

I imagine that it would be bland and completely consistent. Every bite would be exactly the same, like bologna or something.

(EEwww was for the human meat, btw)

hmmm... i guess i'll give it a try :disgust:

Depends, if the texture was EXACTLY the same, as well as the taste.
And the specific cuts of meat would need to stay intact. Can't have a piece of round brown meat and expect it to be appetizing.
What about flavor from the bone and fat?

I would try it, but it would take quite the product to make me switch.

Everything we eat for food is corpse, either animal's corpse or plant's corpse

Yeah, Garden Burgers are a great example of this... I would certainly go for something that's more nutritious
