Homeowner/renter in case you have to move. Easier to break a lease than sell a house.

in either case, none of their fvcking business.

some business will compenstate you for closing costs during relocation.

Also, renting may indicate that there is less overhead $$$ required.

Owning a home may inciate stability.

Legitimate questions, however, I would not answer them in the blind.

Yeah esp with the line this client will not reimburse for relocation

My guess is once you get the interview, the job will not be in the city they specified for long....also the $68k starting package due to 'your lack of the experience we were looking for, although we will hire you anyway' will be presented as a fraction of it.

I have sat in on interviews with similar questions and just usually laugh a bit and excuse myself....getting asked one time for 10years+ experience in Windows 2000 was sort of funny (quite a few years ago)

Another was a Microsoft shop saying they wanted 10 years+ in Red Hat and NT 5.0 quite a few year ago as well...then the list of every database known to man, asking for every programming language, and all the certs, etc :) It's interesting to me and not so bothersome....however my reason is not so much wanting privacy as not wanting to cater to the questions designed to reduce pay grade.
