i like girls with meat on them. models are hot, but thin girls don't hug nearly as well as normal girls do.

obese girls, no.

for people that say looks don't matter, i think that's BS.

no matter what, looks DO matter.

Yeah, that! We all have preferences--even if for fat, slender or plump. My preference is for slender fit or muscular men. I am not attracted to fat men. Nothing against them.... I just don't find myself having feelings toward fat guys. The only thing I could think of as a possible subconscious bias is maybe I tend to have certain attributes associated with fat men ... especially eating habits which would turn me off. I couldn't stand watching my family members let their bodies go, how much then an outsider as a potential SO?

I work out all the time and I'm very health conscious.
I don't think I will be able to date somebody who doesn't care about her body.

Chunky, yes. Fat, no. By way of illustration, I'd date a girl proportioned like Jenna Bush, but not Kirstie Alley. My ideal is maybe 5'9", 120-125, though.

you realise you're asking for a woman with fashion model proportions right ?

I'm 5ft 9 and the smallest I've ever been able to get is to 122. I think I look better a little heavier though.

I do indeed understand that. I didn't mean I considered that chunky at all - it's quite slender. FWIW, my current GF is heavier and quite a bit shorter than that; I just meant those are the proportions I consider ideal.

Really ? a guy I know was telling me that a man usually gives a woman demerits for every inch taller than 5ft 4 that she is.

I'd argue quite the oppposite in most cases :D

I'm a fairly small guy (5'8" 150 lbs.) and I would probably draw the line at a woman who weighs more than me. I've experienced being both rail thin (135 lbs. in high school) and overweight (180 lbs. a couple years ago) so I try not to judge too harshly, but at some point personality can't make up for it..

I'm 6'1" and about 160lbs. My girlfriend is 5'9" and weighs almost as much as I do. She's also the hottest girl I've ever been with - shaped like Beyonce and toned. I guess I'm saying that everyone has a different definition of fat.

How fat?

I've dated all kinds of women, some heavier set than others. The larger girls were very grateful in bed.

Yeah it's probably the most erotic 30 seconds they've had in awhile.

It's true. I look much larger than my girlfriend yet we weigh almost the same. Weird. Women just carry weight differently then men.

When weight is so out of whack that it's a health issue (severely underweight or morbidly obese) then I'm not interested. If the woman is obsessed about weight issues (regardless of what direction it's in) then I'm not interested. If she's completely sedentary and avoids outdoor physical activity (regardless of her weight) then I'm not interested. Otherwise I consider weight to be a continuum where mindset and outlook matter far more than poundage.
I just want to point out that this is an excellent point. ^^
Except that, aren't most "geeks" sedentary indoor-dwellers that rarely venture outside.. or is that just me?

Although.. hey, if I'm virtual, does that mean that I can legally date the "Lady in Red" from the Matrix, since she wasn't real either? Hmm. :)

Ditto. I've rarely seen any women over 6', but the few that I have, have all been pretty attractive, IMHO. I know that there are some "supermodel" types that are that tall, but I certainly don't have the $$$ to afford them the lifestyle that they would want, nor (Slashdot stereotypical geek ideals aside) am I certain that I am "supermodel compatible". After all, a large part of their life is "all about looks", and my personal philosophy is more oriented towards the functional and practical.

Not all women of that stature are necessarily bohemian beasts or skinny waif-like supermodels either, I've seen a few rather "normal-looking" midwestern young women of that height as well. I'd take brains over looks anydays though. (Well, as long as she wasn't "unhealthy looking", I guess.)
