"Good Friday" is a holiday?

we have it as a company paid day off,

normally i would just go in and work anyway, however because today is a day off for us they are doing some power upgrades (putting in a new trunk line for something) so the are shutting down power to all the buildings/plants which means even if i wanted to go in and work i cant because i cant run shit without power

cant really work from home either cause the VPN is down for the same reasons

To the outside observer every day here may appear to be the same, but, once you learn to differentiate various degrees of perfection, you can recognize a truly superior day vs one that is merely great.

That shit's just wrong. Paid holidays should be limited to, at the most, the list of Federal holidays...no more.

Yeah! How dare a private company decide when to give employees days off! That's the government's job! What is this? Communist China!?!

If I didn't go to work on Fridays like that, I would basically never go to work on Fridays (although I do not go to work every other Friday).

working for a multinational company pisses me off sometimes.

the fuckers in Hong Kong and London have their equivalent of federal holidays this past Friday and upcoming Monday.

meanwhile, in the US, I'll be working as 12 hour shift on Easter Sunday itself and not even getting holiday pay for it.

You that much a bitch to go in and work on a day off regularly? WTF you trying to prove?

Most that do this kind of thing know they are screwing up and trying to gain brownie points.

I agree for non-private business. It's bullshit when government buildings pick every holiday possible to be down.
