If online schools were available to you, would you go to one (or enrol you kids in one?

Why? or Why not?

No, I spend enough time in front of my CRT. I need face-to-face contact and someone to goof around physically.

That and it lacks the personal giggling, flirting, tossing stuff around and other personal communications among the students.

All the giggling, flirting, tossing stuff around & general child-like behaviour almost drove me insane in school, I absolutely farkking hated it. That's why online school would propably suit me better.

I have taken many online classes, and loved some of them. In general, the ones with technically minded modern professors or creators were EXCELLENT, while those that were offered online cause all the in person classes were full and were led by a 68yr old tech-illiterate SUCKED.

It's an entirely different kind of learning that doesn't fit everyone. My nephew has been 100% home schooled (he's now a sophmore in high school) and he has hated every attempt to attend regular schools. He's a very intelligent and compassionate guy, so he doesn't do well with the 'macho' driven society types. I couldn't stand regular schools because of all the BS. I go to school for 1 reason, to learn. That's it. Anything that isn't about increasing knowledge is an irritant to me. So for me, online rules (when done well).

Also, well layed out self-paced courses are awesome for me. I can often finish an entire class in a couple weeks, allowing me to rest or play the rest of the time, or even take another class sometimes. I imagine if someone layed out a good self-paced online learning school I could have finished high school and my 2yr degree in maybe 2-3 yrs total.

I would, but only for classes that I'm truly interested in learning. I wouldn't want to take an online class for a subject I have little familiarity with though, as the lack of human contact would likely make the subject appear very boring to me.

I'd take online courses along with real classes, I signed up for one for this semester than dropped it though because I'm already taking 19 units. The bad thing about online only classes for younger kids is they will end up having bad social skills later in life, but for older people, you already are the way you are, and not going to a class physically won't change that.
