I'm comfortable enough in my own sexuality that I really don't need to prove it in a public demonstration.

I find it REALLY bizarre for people to actually be proud of their sexuality.

Well, I can sort of see why there are gay pride events. People want to promote tolerance and that sort of thing...I can accept that.

A straight pride parade though? Idiots would be the only people I could see going to that sort of thing. So you're straight...who gives a fvck? Clearly its intent is to give the finger to people who are gay.

Any party that has the word ?Pride? in it is a party I will refrain from attending. I can?t stand people with religious pride, Insert Country Name Here Pride, Gay Pride, White Pride? How about we all just have American Pride and leave the pride parties for July 4th and Memorial Day????

If we're doing away with the other types of pride, why bother keeping July 4 or Memorial Day?

My thoughts exactly. Straight pride could be more accurately described as not-gay pride.

those are exactly the public events that a person who has low self-esteem but want to hide it would want to go.

Most straight people have better things to do than flaunting their sexuality at a silly straight pride parade.

That being said, so do most GLBT people also.

I don't even understand the reason for Gay Pride Parades, so no I would not go to Straight Pride Parade.

So you have sex with the same gender as yourself, big deal? Just one of those things to make the people who hate it, hate it even more.

For the record I'm not one of the people who hate it.

I only ask because I was sort of invited to a GPParade. I have never seen the reasoning behind pride in sexuality. I can see, on the other hand, the achievements made by people in furthering gay rights. Those people made it possible to have GPParades and have helped achieve a certain amount of tolerance and understanding in communities all over the globe.
That is something to celebrate.
But from what I have seen, these parades have been turned into a circus of drunken promiscuity.
Blah.
