It wouldn't work out because all of the leftists would leave their country due to the high taxes and bad job market and go to the libertarian countries. But then, once there, not knowing what the heck was wrong with the place they were from, they would start clamoring for socialism again.

LOL, I attack the far-right here all the time. Libertarian? Wow. I also don't hate Europeans. They hate me because the ones here and their supporters are far-righters.

One thing I don't think anyone's pointed out is that if you break up into separate nations to exclude those with whom you disagree, you're likely to end up with less liberty, not more. For instance, social conservatives fighting gay marriage are too busy to take up premarital sex, divorce, interracial marriage, etc. Diversity of opinion helps to thwart the natural tendency of people to want to enforce their own behavior as ideal.
