If I can get my mind in the right place I'm the farthest thing from it. And when I can't I don't have a job. There's no way for me to prove this on here. This is the internet and people are only as good as their word so I guess that will have to do. I've only had 2 real jobs so far the 7-11 job that lasted for a bit more than 4 years and the one at NCIX that lasted for a bit more than 1 year. I can tell you that people will vouch for me that at those jobs I was one of the hardest working emplyees they had. Though at the NCIX job I did slack off at the end as I posted about.

You should apply there and show em' how working for a caring company like Walmart and dealing with the thoughtful costumers day in and day out is just a cheerful bowl of cherries.

In my experience the company makes all the difference the customers much less so. If the company treats you like crap there is little incentive to act nice. If the company respects you and makes you feel like your work is appreciated then many will work hard and be happy doing it. People don't realize so much of the attitude people project at the bottom levels of a company come from a culture within the company. Certainly you will have your bad apples and more so at low end retail jobs where you do indeed have a lot of people who just hate their lives but that doesn't account for nearly as much of it as you might think.
 
write a book and put up on amazon.

My son did this, wrote 2 books and a short story and is working on a 3rd. not making a lot atm, but it's a long term thing. starts out slow and sales build month by month.

Amazon will publish books for you? Didn't know that, cool. Or do you mean your son got a publisher?
 
I did work at walmart for exactly 1 year (left the same day that i started the year before) and I would not recommend working there unless you are desperate, I hated it, especially xmas time, that was the worst part.

This was 24 years ago when Sam was still in charge, its only gotten worse since then.

i used to be pretty good at writing short stories, time is an issue for me but i find this intrigueing thanks.
Actually, i always wanted to start writing "choose your own adventure" style books. i don't think anyone does them anymore and i enjoyed them as a kid...but dunno how well that would work out digitally on a kindle.

If I had no other options and needed to feed my family, in a heartbeat. I don't denigrate any job.
 
Dude, if you have to do it to pay the bills then do it. Don't ask us, you need money to pay the bills, do what you have to do and put your pride on the shelf.
 
If it was the only thing available and I was out of a job, sure. I would not want to do it as a career mind you, mostly because the money is not there. I could be way off here, but from my understanding jobs like that are rather low stress even on the job and hours can be flexible.
 
I don't get the question.

If you need a job and the only job available is a "wall mart" type job then you do what you have to do.

I never understood this entitlement mentality by the current generation that if you cannot find a job you want, then you will just sit on your ass.

Its a pretty prevalent attitude with 99ers on wall street.

I'll wager that there's a shit ton of white collar workers on unemployment right now because they think they are entitled to a better job than pushing carts at Walmart.They are definitely over qualified, but beggars can't be choosers. Entitlement didn't start with my generation, it started with yours and only grew.
