Would you ever make the switch back to a desktop?

Just had a look at the coolermaster desktop cases, black aluminium, fold down doors for drive access. Desktop cases have really come on since my last one, an old elonex 386. I wondered whether anyone else was tempted to switch back?

I would use a desktop case for only one reason, a Home Theater PC. In fact, the coolermaster linked was one case I was looking at, though I really prefered the ATC-610 (that or a 2U rackmount, which really isn't desktop I know, but...) As for my "use me" PC I would not, too much space for the case, not enough space to work in and hold all my drives :)

Sure, depending on situation. Went looking for a desktop case for my spare computer, didn't find much and what I did find was twice the price of the same spec case in tower form. So I got creative with the tin snips and converted a 286/AT case over to ATX. Still using it - in the situation of my spare computer where it's off to the side on a shelf a tower case would have sucked and setting a tower on it's side would have been a bother with CDs.

So sure
