I'm writing an essay and want to get a grasp on what people think, and I know that most the people here aren't from England (I'm not either, just came back from vacation), but the press is what gets to you which will be an important part in my essay. So basically just respond and give your details as to why/why not. (I'm not using a poll because it's not good at reflecting your whole opionated response).

I personally ate meat , while the rest of my 3 family members didnt. Also keep in mind not ALL meat is contaminated.

I would probably stick to seafood and poultry in England if it were me. The gestation period for BCE (aka Mad Cow Disease) is something like a decade, and the victim then dies a horrible, horrible death. I believe the current science is that it is not necessarily dangerous to eat meat from an infected animal, and the real problem is in eating marrow and other beef products that have customarily been used in processed foods for their beef flavor.

Even so, the science is still too unrefined, and the consequences too great, for me to feel perfectly safe with this.

I'm happy to eat English meat. mind you, chicken & lamb are my favourites having never been fond of beef at any time!
all cattle for consumption are slaughtered no later than 30 months & the brain, spinal cord & intestines are discarded making british beef the safest in the EU!

Nope just cause there is that disease going around and knowing us humans we overlooked a few sheep here and there. Not taking that risk.
